Falon and Dave got engaged and planned their fall wedding at 1899 Farmhouse in less than 2 months. Whew! That makes me exhausted just thinking of it! Since Falon is a teacher and was on summer break, they knew they wanted to move quickly since her time would be limited once school began in the fall.

I met with Falon and her mom shortly after Falon and Dave booked their wedding at my favorite wedding venue, 1899 Farmhouse in Princeton, TX. It’s a beautiful venue, especially for an outdoor wedding.

They chose to have their ceremony at sunset under the pecan trees. The weather was absolutely perfect, with a slight breeze as the sun set. Since the ceremony was scheduled for sunset, I worked with Falon to define a timeline that allowed them to do a “first look” and wrap up all the family photos prior to the ceremony. The big perk of this is that it meant Falon and Dave could head off to the reception with their guests instead of having to hang back for the typical sixty minutes of portraits after a wedding.

Both Falon and Dave are into CrossFit, so they found some neat ways to incorporate that into their wedding, including wearing their CrossFit shoes under their wedding attire. And, they also let their love of CrossFit influence the design of the groom’s cake too!

There were a couple of things I really loved about working with Falon and Dave. First, Falon is a super chill, laid-back bride. She didn’t stress over the wedding planning— her focus was primarily on her excitement to be married. The day of the wedding, she was all smiles and super relaxed while she focused on just enjoying the day and having fun.

The other thing that struck me was how incredibly excited and supportive both of their families were. They were surrounded by an amazing support system and I know that will be fantastic for them in the future as well.

Falon has been involved in dance for years, so quite a few of her bridal party and/or guests were friends from dance. For a wedding photographer, this is music to my ears! I do love some great dancing during the reception!

I love that Falon and Dave added Duke to their wedding and made him their official ring bearer. He did a great job of delivering their rings during the ceremony!

Dave’s dad performed the wedding ceremony. It’s such a special touch when couples have a loved one do this!

I cracked up when Falon and Dave had a dance contest during their reception with the bridal party participating. They have some really crazy and fun friends who were perfect candidates to pull this off! I think they kept all eyes on them during the contest and gave everyone a ton of laughs. It was a great way to jump start the reception festivities!
